The Plot Bunny Center

Sun Jun 17, 2007, 1:24 PM
  • Mood: Zest
After giving it some thought, I realized that my FFN profile just does NOT have enough space for all the random plot bunnies that pop up to harass me :shakefist: , so I'll keep all the damn fuzzy little things here instead, a la WoM on her DA journal.

Some of these plot bunnies are up for adoption, just drop me a line to let me know you want one! (I'll mark which ones are up for adoption. Pretty much anything that has a "Planning phase" is not up for adoption.)

Without further ado:

Reality Check- In Progress.
Where WAS Valerie during Reality Trip, and why didn't she find out Danny's secret just like everyone else in the entire country? Let's just say that Danny wasn't the only one with plans for over the summer break.

Co-written with my sister One Amahira, a short story that's our answer to the burning question left by Reality Trip: Where the HECK was Valerie?

Analogue - ADOPTED BY ~Clueless1! [link]
Vlad was spared a life-changing accident twenty years ago and he married the woman of his dreams. Danny does not exist in this timeline, as Jack and Maddie did not get together and have any children... so who does? Familiar faces appear in unfamiliar roles when young Diana Masters comes home from boarding school to find her mom with some creepy fat guy, and her father missing.

This one isn't a plot bunny so much as it is a story idea that I'm already working on, but it's taken a back seat to Anathema and Benediction for the moment. An alternate universe based on the timeline seen in Masters of All Time, with Vlad and Maddie's daughter Diana as the main character. (I was sooooo tempted to name her Danielle. SO tempted!)

Fun and Games- ADOPTED BY ~SG-Phantom!
It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye. Fenton Family Game Night goes horribly awry when the board game Jack got at a garage sale turns out to be the lair of a ghost called the Gamekeeper. Everyone is drawn into the crazy ghost's game, and the only way out is to beat him... at his own game.

Inspired by the same scenario from a roleplay, where Gamekeeper was first created. I think what spawned this bunny was "Vlad the Hate Kitty". Suffice to say, when playing a DnD style RPG-made-real by a crazy ghost who's your GM, and he tells you that some of the treasure MAY be cursed... assume that it's ALL cursed.

Confessions of a Secondary Character-
Sure, we've seen plenty of tales about Danny, Sam, Tucker, Vlad, and so on and so forth. But don't you think all the minor characters might have something to say about life in Amity Park or the Ghost Zone?

Probably a series of POV one-shots focusing on, as the title says, secondary characters. Paulina, Mikey, Dash, Kwan, Star, the Dairy King, the members of Ember's band, one of Walker's guards... that sort of thing. This one is up for adoption as well, if anyone else wants to play with it.

Ew or Yikes? (Box Ghost/Lunch Lady)
He adored the cardboard squareness of boxes. She adored any meal that had protein-rich meat. It was love at first sight over a TV Dinner.

I have NO damned clue WHERE this one came from. None whatsoever. I blame my Geology summer class. :shakefist: Rocks get tedious and cause the mind to wander into weird territory. Totally up for adoption.

The Sky is Mine (DP/VG)
If there was one thing he enjoyed, it was slipping out of the house after a bad day and enjoying a long flight under the stars. Valerie catches the ghost-boy in an unusually pensive mood and learns a little more about her nemesis.

One-shot inspired in part by that shot at the end of My Brother's Keeper where Danny's just flying around with an absolutely blissful look on his face.

Walking on Air (DP/SM)
Walking home at night in a downpour wasn't an appealing idea. But perhaps a late-night flight home above the clouds was. After all, flying's nice, right?

Another one-shot inspired by the same scene as above, only involving Sam instead of Valerie. Where do these things come from!? :shakefist:

Phantom Cross
Technus is back and infiltrating the Internet! Problems arise when Danny chases the spook through cyberspace and the two ghosts tumble through some sort of hole and wind up in Cyber City...

Yeeeah. I blame my current Rockman EXE kick for this one. Playing my way through Battle Network 6: Cybeast Falzar, and a couple of random brainwaves slammed into eachother. One of my regular Anathema readers has expressed interest in this story going somewhere. Since I recently beat the game, I may try to develop the plot bunny into a viable story.

A DOOMED Alliance- ADOPTED BY Emissary of Honesty [link]
You never know who's behind a screenname. Eager to avenge their loss to a player known only as Beowulf, the players behind Ghostboy, FryerTuck, and Chaos forge an alliance with a surprisingly skilled newbie by the screenname of PackersFan...

This one hit me while studying screenshots of various computer screens from the show. We already know Danny, Sam, and Tucker all play DOOMED. We know Mr. Lancer plays DOOMED. But if you pay attention in Secret Weapons, it seems Vlad also plays DOOMED. Probably a one-shot I'll eventually get to. I might change Mr. Lancer's and Vlad's screennames. (Can't you see Lancer using a classic literature character for his screenname? And Vlad showing his cheesehead colors? XD)

Indemnification (ED/OVG ... kinda) - IN-PROGRESS - [link]
For ten years, they were the most bitter of enemies. Now, they may be one another's only hope.

My chapter outline indicates this will be 26 chapters from prologue to epilogue, and I suspect it will quite possibly top 200 pages in length. (Though my per-chapter minimum is 5 pages, I suspect in reality it will be closer to 8-9 pages per chapter for this one!)

The More You Know...
When the ghost-boy is defeated and captured by the ghostly Bookworm, Amity Park will require the services of a new savior to stop the brainy spook.... Mr. Lancer!

Why don't the plot bunnies DIE?! Maybe a oneshot idea. For some reason I got the mental image of Lancer and $random_ghost getting into an intellectual pissing match, and that's the result. Up for adoption, since I don't think I'll have enough free time to do the academic research required, and my own vast stores of trivia and knowledge probably are insufficient for something like this. =p

Driver's Ed
You know how most kids cringe at learning to drive from their parents? I do, but for a whole different set of reasons.

POV comedy one-shot. Jazz is 16, so she can't have had her license for too terribly long. A look at driver's ed, Fenton-style.

Every OS Sucks
He had tried everything to make it work. At every turn his efforts were thwarted by various complications. So he turned to Vlad for help.

Comedy one-shot in the same vein as "Master of Technology, Indeed!". Only this time about Skulker and trying to find a good operating system for his suit. Portals XL, anyone?

Blue Screen of Death
The Internet wasn't always so smooth-running. Netto finds out first hand when he stumbles across an old PC running a program called "Windows"...

Comedy one-shot that ISN'T a Danny Phantom story. Probably take shots at the other Rockman series, perhaps this old computer belonged to a fanfic writer or fanartist of the original, X, Zero, or Legends series...?

Unconventional Uses of a Oujia Board
Danny and friends learn some amusing trivia about Danny's ghostly enemies when they discover an interesting fact about Oujia boards.

Maybe a series of comedy one-shots. The idea being that a Oujia board acts like a ghostly internet chat room or telephone. In short, Danny, Sam, and Tucker are able to quickly figure out who they're talking to, but the ghost on the other end of the line doesn't realize they're chatting with the ghost-boy.

Lookin' for Love (EM/DF... sorta)
... in all the wrong places. Danny manages to deflect Ember's love song back at her, and chaos ensues when the ghost rocker falls under the effect of her own music... and for Danny!

Not much else to say about this one. I suppose it's a subconscious shot at people who like the Danny/Ember ship. Probably a comedy, and relatively short.

The Scoop
One news station wants to get the story straight from the ghost-boy's mouth. They want to know his side of the story. And unfortunately, Lance Thunder is the guy the station sends to try and flag the mysterious Danny Phantom down for an interview.

I just seem to get off-the-wall plot bunnies. You gotta admit the unlucky weatherman is a funny guy. Probably a 2 or 3 chapter comedy tale of his attempts at getting that dang interview.

Sam Digs Giant Robots?
Jamie, Coop, and Kiva's big cross-country road trip hits a snag when a tangle with Technus leaves the pilot of Megas incapacitated. Danny's powers can't even scratch the Master of Technology's newest battle body, and it seems only a matter of time before Technus can take over the world! .... Unless the player beind "Chaos" can put her gaming savvy to good use and step up to the steering wheel!

Okay, totally up for adoption. I couldn't even begin to say where this came from. I suppose the thought of Sam at the helm of an overkill giant robot is just that amusing.

Come Ye All to the Faire!
After taking control of her brother's kingdom, Dora decides to attempt something unheard of in the Ghost Zone... a Renaissance Faire! And not only the ghosts are invited...

I swear, I get the weirdest ideas while I'm stuck at work. Basically a Dora-centric story, probably semi-comedy about a ghostly RenFaire that she wants to have open to ghosts AND humans. Chaos would likely be bound to ensue. I mean come ON. Tucker versus Skulker in an archery tournament! =D

The Ghost and the Golddigger
Billions of dollars might seem like absolute bliss to some. You could buy anything you wanted (except the Green Bay Packers, apparently.) But with wealth comes a new problem, especially for a single billionaire in his forties...

Probably a comedy one-shot or short story about Vlad dealing with some obnoxious woman who's after him for his money. Clearly our favorite fruit loop isn't going to be interested, given his fixation on Maddie, but hey, can't fault a girl for trying, right? Antics ensue when Vlad hatches a plan to scare the woman away.

I Tried to Shoot My Son - ADOPTED BY ~QueenofRandomIdiocy
How did we miss it? Why didn't Danny say anything? How is this even possible, everyone knows humans and ghosts are mutually exclusive...

One-shot introspective POV fic set during Reality Trip. Basically Maddie musing and trying to come to terms with learning that her own son is the ghost-boy. Likely full of yummy angst. All aboard the Angst Train! BOOOHOOOO!

Unlikely Allies/Girl Power
When a group of Amazon ghost women abduct several Casper High students, the guys are set to be sacrificed to their patron deity! Can Sam, Paulina, Star, and Valerie all put their differences aside long enough to rescue Danny, Tucker, Dash, and Kwan?

Again, not sure where this one came from. I think partly inspired by that short scene in King Tuck where Sam and Paulina both grab hold of Hotep-Ra's trailing bandages. Plus there's a certain amount of amusement to be derived from the idea of the goth, the chica, the satellite, and the huntress trying to work together.

Ghost in the Machine
Weird stuff starts happening after Tucker replaces his PDA with a new model. Ghosts can come from people and animals, but from a beloved electronic device-?

Not a dang clue where this came from. I think this comic may be to blame though.

More Than a Thesis - ADOPTED BY MISSMUNE! [link]
While in captivity, she had essentially admitted it outright. She was jealous of the amazing things her brother could do. When envy turns into action, problems are sure to ensue.

Squee! I love it when a plot bunny finds a good home =D

Psychological Warfare
Trying to go after Danny was a wasted effort so long as his older sister was there. It's all-out psychological warfare when Penelope Spectra tries to take on Jazz Fenton directly! And Spectra may have bitten off more than she can handle when the aspiring psychology major turns out to be ready and more than capable of playing the doctor's own game.

Silly idea and an excuse to abuse college psychology classes. I'm honestly surprised nobody else has seen the potential for a psychology duel between Spectra and Jazz.

On a Fine Line
...between true and anti. Danny questions his sexuality, seeking advice from friends, family, school counselors and members of Amity's Park's homosexual community. Which way will he end up going?

I don't think I'll EVER do anything with this one. But if I wanted to stir shit up, I would write this huge emotional drama that looks like it'd end with slash, but twist at the last moment to stay straight. Let's see the trues/antis try to classify THAT, ne? It would have to be a serious character drama though, requiring considerable research into the gay community in order to write an in-character struggle of finding one's sexuality.

Luckily however, I'm not of the mindset to follow through on it and stir up trouble like that. This plot bunny shall never go beyond being just a plot bunny. But it would be interesting to see both sides get their hackles up.

On Wings of Steel - ADOPTED BY =Feri-san!
Despite his ghost fighting, Danny was able to make it into the space program, chasing his dream of being an astronaut. Years later, he's the lead test pilot for an experimental new spaceplane. When something goes catastrophically wrong though, peopple begin questioning how Danny was able to walk away from the wreckage unscathed...

Come on, if you had ghost powers and something went horrifically wrong, don't you think YOU would save yer bacon via intangibility? Just a new spin on the "Danny's secret gets found out" genre.

Only Slightly Disturbing
With Danny Phantom's increasing popularity among the kids and teens of Amity Park, somebody gets the bright idea to host the first ever Phantom Fanatics Convention in, where else, Amity Park. And Danny thought San Diego was full of crazy geeks....

Silliness. Pure silliness inspired by the comic convention in Reality Trip. Cosplayer chaos! Confused ghosts, and even more confused ghost hunters! And maybe a thoroughly confused Vlad if he's trying to get an evil plot going and has a case of bad timing. =D

Rise to Greatness
Long ago, Pariah was not hailed as the terrible and mighty ghost king. The tale has long been lost to time, but once he was hailed not as a tyrant.... but as a hero.

Weird idea regarding Pariah's history and the origins of the Crown of Fire and Ring of Rage. A made-up tale of Pariah's days before he became the ghost king we see in Reign Storm. Lots of slaying of epic beasts and the like, probably. Depending on how I'm feeling, I might turn this one into a sort of backstory-prequel to Indemnification.

Granda Amiko de Viro
Jack and Maddie have an interesting and awkward situation on their hands when they have a run-in with Walker. A situation that gets far more awkward when Wulf saves the two hunters from the irate warden. And wouldn't luck have it that Danny and his friends are out of town for a weekend field trip.

There needs to be more stuff with Wulf. Seriously.

Tucker's New Pet
A COMPLETE mind wipe wasn't the only thing the Scarab Scepter botched when Tucker returned everyone to the student government debate. With Hotep-Ra dealt with, Sphinxy comes looking for its master.

You've gotta love that Sphinx.

Cats and Dogs - ADOPTED BY ~Nonamei!
Vlad has a problem on his hands when a ghostly kitten takes refuge in his lab, with Cujo hot on the furry little beast's tail. After inadvertantly saving the cat in the process of protecting his lab, it seems the fruit loop has a new housemate, whether he wants one or not!

A new take on "Vlad gets a cat!" It would be appropriate for everyone's favorite half-ghost fruit loop to get not just any cat, but a ghost cat =D

Black and White and Red All Over (DP/VG)
Valerie never paid the Guys in White much mind. After all, they were government drones, but they were after the ghosts just like she was, right? An unexpected alliance is formed when they show up to come after her for "unlicensed vigilante ghost hunting."

Another random I'm-bored-at-work plot bunny. The GIW have shown up three times now to plague Danny. I can imagine a certain interest being taken in the vigilante efforts of everybody's favorite huntress as well.

Heir to the Throne (DM/TF... sorta.)
With Dora's brother deposed, the newly-declared Dragon Queen looks to find a suitable prince. But not by traditional means, no, she plans to court her chosen prince in a more modern manner. What's it mean when Tucker finds an amulet on his desk one morning, and a strangely familiar new girl in school?

I don't know why, but I seem to have a slight fondness for the Dora/Tucker pairing. It shows in Jeremiad a little bit, too. I imagine this would probably be a 4-5 chapter romantic-ish comedy as Dora-disguised-as-a-normal-student tries to flirt with Tucker. With her royal bearing, she'd probably make quick enemies of Paulina, too. Oh, and let's not forget treachery afoot from the exiled Aragon. I'm sure he wants his amulet back.

Teacher for a Day - ADOPTED BY ~Nonamei
As if fighting ghosts as a student weren't bad enough! Danny wins a contest at the school and is stuck being teacher for a day. Instead of dodging bullies and dealing with homework, Danny's got to dodge staff meetings and deal with an unruly class. And that's before the ghosts show up!

One of those "walk a mile in the other guy's shoes" sorts of stories.

A Lesson in Villainy
"I wish I knew what Plasmius was up to!" Danny griped as he slipped into bed. Perfect, Desiree didn't particularly care for either of the half-ghosts. Little did the teen realize he wouldn't be waking up in Amity Park but rather in Madison, Wisconsin...

Oh god, a "Let's use Desiree as a plot device!" fic, a "body swapping fic", AND one of those "walk a mile in the other guy's shoes" sorts of stories all in one neat package. XD This one could be a LOT of fun if handled well, with a lot of potential for character development for Danny AND Vlad. Somehow, I can't see Vlad having much patience for Lancer or Dash. And oooh, what about Valerie? And I can see Danny having an extended moment of panic about business deals and evil plots and the like. XD

I'm Not Nuts!
A trip down memory lane to the fateful day where "I'm not nuts!" led Maddie to say "I do."

Inspired by that scene at the end of Identity Crisis when Jazz declares "I'm not nuts!" and Maddie remarks that's what Jack said when he proposed to her.

Natural Abilities
If there was one thing Skulker despised, it was being without his suit. No thanks to the Guys in White, the Ghost Zone's greatest hunter finds himself the hunted... by Cujo!

In Double Cross My Heart, Skulker loses his battle suit. This is on top of the presumed total destruction of his upgraded suit from Micro-Management. So what's the little guy gonna do? He's got to get to Vlad's place from Amity Park, and he's got two routes to go: Fenton Portal, through the Ghost Zone, to Vlad's portal, or the land route. And Cujo thinks Skulker would make for a mighty fine squeaky.

Killing Time
So what does Clockwork do with all that time? The answers might surprise you.

Probably a silly Clockwork-centric comedy/parody. Really, when you control time, you technically have all the time in the world to do stuff. So what DO you do with all that free time? Other than spy on events via time-viewing gizmos? Really, with the kind of planning ability Clocky's shown, can you even begin to imagine the sorts of practical jokes one could play on the unwary?

Why Vlad Likes Halloween
What other time of year can Vlad answer the door as Plasmius and scare the daylights out of little kids?

More Halloween based silliness. I can see Vlad being the sort to get a kick out of spooking trick or treaters. All the kids in the area probably think that the castle's haunted already, why not add more fuel to the schoolyard rumor mill?

Can We Talk?
Jack and Maddie have encountered the elusive Danny Phantom only a handful of times, each encounter more baffling than the last. Things only get more mysterious when the spook himself appears in their living room... to talk.

A new take on the "Danny's parents find out" genre. Probably set during Danny's senior year of high school, with Danny debating finally coming clean to his parents. So I figure Danny probably made sure all the Fenton weapons in the immediate vicinity were disabled before he approaches them as Phantom to try and talk to the two ghost hunters in a non-threatening environment and all that good stuff.

The Epic Boxing Match
Boxed in, with only the Ghost Gloves to fight with... Not a problem.

Jack Fenton versus the Box Ghost. Need I say more?

Team Phantom, Ready for Launch!
The Ghost Zone is infinite, connecting to countless places through countless doors. When the Specter Speeder takes a dive through one such door, losing Walker becomes the least of the trio's worries.

Another weird crossover plot bunny....or rather, should I say plot fox? In this case, crossing Danny Phantom with Starfox (specifically the Nintendo Power comic, not the games.) The Black Hole in the comics is hinted at connecting one or more dimensions, so why not to the Ghost Zone? =p Or maybe I just like the mental image of black and white Arwings? ... When I can get at my rendering stuff, I should do that.

Save a Life
When an injured Dani shows up at FentonWorks seeking help, Danny has a difficult decision to make.

Yet another variation on the "Danny's folks find out" genre. Danny knows what's needed to stabilize his "cousin"- a mid-transformation DNA sample. The question then is: Is he willing to reveal his secret to his parents so that they can save Dani?

Crossed Signals
Ghosts can communicate via Oujia boards and particularly talented psychics, right? So what about half-ghosts?

Similar to Unconventional Uses of a Oujia Board, only involving the fact that Danny (or Vlad) could probably screw with Oujia boards or psychics. Either deliberately or by complete accident.

Living With Myself
Vlad didn't always have such an easy time with duplicating himself.

A semi-silly story about a 20 or 30-something Vlad and his initial attempts at mastering duplication. What if he was able to split himself, but had trouble putting himself back together? Have you ever played the Four Swords Zelda games? I think that inspired this.

The Ultimate Sacrifice - ADOPTED BY =Netbug009
It was heralded a miracle that they all survived the explosion, but they knew the truth. It had been no miracle, it had been the dying wish of a hero.

Alternate TUE timline. Instead of everyone dying in the explosion, Danny gets killed in the blast but is able to save everyone. But with Danny gone, now who will take up the mantle of protector of Amity Park? Sam and Tucker KNOW how to set the Fenton Portal up to create a half-ghost, so who will be willing to take on the duty Danny had to abandon? In my version of the plot bunny, I see Sam and/or Tucker doing it. But if this gets adopted, it's the adoptee's choice. Maybe Valerie? Maybe Jazz? Maybe even Jack or Maddie?

Between the Black and White (DP/VG)
After an accident in the Fentons' lab, Valerie has to seek Phantom's help if she wants to ever understand what's happened to her.

I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen this idea played with already. What if, while visiting Danny, Valerie ends up having an accident involving the Fenton Portal? There's room for all sorts of story arcs and character development if she somehow ends up in a way the very thing she hates.

Unexpected Revelations (DF/VG)
If she wanted to keep her friend safe, he had every right to know about her second job, right? After all, one of her enemies had attacked him once already. What if it happened again?

Inspired by this picture by WingsofMorphius. A reversal on the usual "Valerie learns Danny's secret identity", in which Valerie decides to come clean to Danny, not knowing that he already knows about her ghost hunting.

Ghostly Makeover (DF/PS)
She knew that Danny Fenton had some connection to her beloved Phantom. Paulina gets more than she bargained for when she tries to learn more about the ghost-boy via the unpopular Fenton!

Paulina gets no love from the fandom. Basically, Paulina starts being all nice to Danny in order to try and find more out about the ghost-boy. Much to Sam's (and Valerie's!) annoyance, the Latina works her way into the unpopular circle of friends. While over at FentonWorks one day (to study for a test), Paulina starts snooping around the Fentons' lab, the ghost portal in particular....

Snow, Snow, Snow Your Boat - ADOPTED BY ~PyroStorm - [link]
There's a reason pirates never operated in the frigid seas around the North Pole. But no, Youngblood thought his new ship would be more than a match for the icy wastes.

Comedy one-shot about Youngblood getting his boat stuck in an ice field up around the North Pole. Not sure where exactly the idea came from. :D

Understanding Teenhood in Amity Park
In an effort to better understand what his daughter was involved in, Damon Gray decides to learn more about ghosts and ghost hunting. He may be taking on more than he originally thought.

Not sure how this one would be played. Damon could talk to the Fentons, I suppose. Or blunder his way through learning about ghosts himself. Hell, maybe talk to the Fentons and have a portal accident even. I don't know! It's up to whoever adopts it =p

Writer's Block - ADOPTED BY ~Nonamei! (GW/JF)
Where is a ghostly author with a bad case of writer's block to go for help? Sparks fly when the Ghostwriter comes through the ghost portal and runs into Jazz while looking for the answer to his literary dilema!

Ghostwriter/Jazz? WTF am I on? Why not? Some people are just in love with the idea of Clockwork/Jazz, why not Ghostwriter/Jazz? No idea where this one came from. No idea whatsoever.

The Turkey Shot Out of the Oven...
Thanksgiving is thrown into chaos when a giant ghostly turkey tries to take vengence for the innocent birds feasted on every year! Can Danny stop the feathered fiend before Amity Park becomes its holiday feast?

More seasonal weirdness. Partly inspired by some weird holiday poem-thing from when my sister was in grade school. A few lines to the effect of "The turkey shot out of the oven, and rocketed right through the air; It rebounded off of the cupboard, and partly demolished a chair"

Mistletoe
Against Danny and Maddie's wishes, Jack invites Vlad to spend the holidays in Amity Park. Before long, the two half-ghosts are locked in epic battle for control of... a piece of mistletoe.

More seasonal hilarity. I'm thinking a lighthearted one-shot with Vlad and Danny trying to sneakily use ghost powers for control of the mistletoe. Vlad trying to catch Maddie under it for a holiday smooch, and Danny trying his damnedest to make sure that never happens =p

The Gamer's Lament
How could this happen? For years it had stood as the pinnacle of video gaming events. It was the Mecca that all video gamers had aspired and conspired to attend!

Tucker's into video games, right? How do you think he reacted to the news earlier this year that E3 as we know it is dead? Just a silly one-shot. Maybe take some shots at all the frackas surrounding the Playstation 3's launch, too.

Her Heart's Desire
She had come far, from being merely an orphan on the streets to the prize jewel of the sultan's royal harem. But jewels can lose their shine...

Not sure where this one came from. I guess because we get more of Desiree's backstory really than any of the other ghosts on the show. When y'think about it, she really got screwed over. I have to wonder- did she love the sultan? Did he love her? Was she in it only for the kingdom she was promised, or was she a naive lovestruck fool?

The Pharoh and the Geek
When Clockwork's staff is stolen, things take a turn for the strange... for Tucker! Stranded some three-thousand years in the past, the techno-geek is mistaken for the Pharoh Duul-Aman and has to try and figure out a way home! While in the present, it's up to Danny and Sam to keep one very confused Pharoh from endangering Danny's secret!

Totally not sure where this came from. I guess a sort of time-travelling version of the Prince and the Pauper =p

An Unusual Christmas Gift
Danny wanted to get his parents something unique for the holidays. Something special. Something that wouldn't affect his limited budget. And the solution is in the Ghost Zone!

So the ghosts have this big Christmas truce every year. Danny's invited. What if he arranges to have Phantom's invitation given instead to his parents?

Holiday Truce
Vlad didn't much care for the holiday season. He didn't have anyone to spend the celebration with, which only made things worse. For lack of anything better to do, it's off to the Ghost Zone for the annual party.

I can't see Vlad really liking the holidays, can you? I mean, the general vibe of the season is all love and peace on earth and family and friends and warm fuzzies. He's an archvillain living alone in a castle in Wisconsin.

A Moment to Live - ADOPTED BY *BlackEyes666!
His future seemed so bright. A loving father, a lavish home, all the best that money could buy. And then he woke up.

One-shot angst-o-rama/dark POV fic. As Danny points out in Kindred Spirits, Dani isn't like the other clones- she wasn't mindless. Don't you think that the prime clone might have likewise not been mindless, had he only gotten a chance to live? What thoughts might have been running through that clone's head when the tank fell over? From what we see, the clone was certainly awake and aware as he melted.

Through the Ages
The stories tell of the hero who stood against the night, the young man who saved this land time and again. I have borne witness to the reality behind the legend, for I am part of it.

Whoa, another plot bunny that isn't Danny Phantom related! While playing Twilight Princess, the plot bunny struck that the Master Sword is almost always described as choosing Link. This implies some degree of sentience, does it not? Just think of everything that sword has been witness to over the ages that span the Zelda franchise!

How Lucky I Am
Dash gets an unexpected dose of maturity when the jock learns that the shrimpy kid he's always picking on is the very same ghost-kid he thinks of as a hero.

As thickheaded as Dash is, I don't think even he would miss the fact that he is damn lucky Danny has never seriously abused his powers for revenge. This bunny could take one of two forms: A piece set during Reality Trip while Danny, Sam, and Tucker are running cross-country; or a new story in which Dash somehow finds out Danny's secret but in a rare fit on intelligence doesn't blurt this fact everywhere.

A Holiday Wish
Not having much else to do for the holidays, Dani's trip to the Ghost Zone for the annual truce and party turns interesting when several of the ghosts decide to team up and help the clone-girl with her melty problem

No idea where this one came from. Basically some holiday fluff involving a bunch of ghosts and Dani getting some getback on Vlad and finding a way to stabilize Dani.

Accidental Encounter
Mr. Lancer wasn't one for dealing with ghosts. The things were nothing but trouble, and a menace to the well-being of himself and his students. Certainly they weren't intellectual creatures, right?

I could see Lancer and the Ghostwriter getting along rather well after the initial "OMG GHOST!" reaction subsided, don't you? Certainly both have a fair appreciation for literature.

Rock Opera
Things go far beyond a mere battle of the bands when Ember crosses vocals with a ghostly opera singer and grudgingly seeks Danny's help.

I have no idea. I suppose Ember's style of music certainly wouldn't be appreciated by more... ah... classical musicians.

The Day the Music Died (EM/original character)
She loved him, but he never seemed to notice or appreciate her hard work, all to win his heart. And then everything went so wrong.

A new take on the "Ember's past" genre. Instead of being an aspiring musician herself, she's the pyrotechnician behind some rocker's shows, and totally infatuated with the guy, but he doesn't seem to notice or care. Jealously turns deadly when Ember gets careless with the fireworks, resulting in the guy burning to death on stage in a suitably tragic fashion. Which of course leads to OMG ANGST!

Honestly, I heard the song I ganked the title from, and the idea just popped into my head.

War of the Words
As if dealing with Christmas-hating half-ghosts weren't headache enough! It's a war of rhyme when the Ghostwriter goes up against Nantukos, the ghost of cheesy limericks!

I blame this one on a thread on the DPO forums in which Bluemoonalto claims she's been "attacked" by what she's dubbed "Nantukos, the evil muse of limerick poetry." She's currently in the process of trying to summarize TUE in limerick form. Somehow this planted the idea of a limerick-writing ghost, and then you add in the Ghostwriter... and... well, yeah.

Roll the Dice (DF/SM/VG/PS/TF/etc wackiness ensues!)
Things in Amity Park start getting strange after a ghost calling himself Maverick gets loose in the city. Armed with a ghostly roulette wheel, the high-rolling ghost causes havoc by manipulating everyone's luck!

Like Fun and Games, this one is inspired by a RP scenario where Maverick (and later his girlfriend Lady Luck) were introduced. Maverick's power basically works like this: He puts somebody's name on the roulette ball, drops it in the wheel, and gives it a spin. The victim's luck shifts depending on where that ball lands, for good or for ill. Examples of the things this wheel could cause are characters suddenly getting all infatuated with people they otherwise hardly notice; winning the lotto or losing a lot of money.... basically, if you can say "What are the odds of that ever happening?", Maverick's wheel can possibly make it happen.

Time Well Wasted - ADOPTED BY ~Nonamei!
Having abandonned their original summer vacation plans, what else will Danny and his friends fill the long days of vacation with?

I forsee Clockwork's begrudging involvement. Or perhaps the Ghostwriter's. Not sure.

Time and Money
Vlad's attempts at coercing the Master of Time to help his schemes are about to land the billionaire in some serious trouble.

Say, perhaps 10 years in the future in a certain alternate timeline? Clockwork strikes me as the sort of guy you DON'T want to piss off, even though he seems to be patient to a fault most of the time.

The Not-So Fake-Out Make-Out (DF/SM)
It wasn't the first time they'd kissed and it wouldn't be the last, but it was certainly one of the most memorable.

One-shot pure fluff about Danny and Sam's wedding. The sweetness of it is already giving me cavities =p

Ten Years (DP/VG... kinda.)
"I'm sorry for what almost happened ten years ago. Meet me at the Nasty Burger tonight. - D.Phantom" was all the note said, leaving Valerie baffled. She hadn't seen hide nor hair of her ghostly nemesis in years, why was he contacting her now?

Partly inspired by Bluemoonalto's Schroedinger's Anniversary, a "ten years later" story in which Danny hasn't told Valerie about his secret identity. On the anniversary of the Nasty Burger explosion, he decides he needs to talk to Valerie, and tell her about that "what might have been" had everyone died in the explosion.

There Are Some Things Money Can't Buy
...for everything else, there's ghost powers. Or so Vlad thinks. Season tickets for Lambeau Field, easy enough for a billionaire to obtain, right? Maybe not, with a waiting list some 20 years long and a massive number of cheeseheads in the way!

Totally inspired by this pic: [link] In my chats with =Goku-san, I have learned more Packers trivia than I ever wanted to know. Such as the waitlist for season tickets is absurdly long. And in a chat with Kismet, we determined that Vlad probably couldn't just overshadow some poor shmuck and filch their tickets because Packers fanatics are probably stubborn and/or rabid enough about their precious tickets that they could probably fight off an overshadow attempt if it was a threat to their tickets. Cue hilarity =p

One Wing in the Fire (Kitty/Johnny)
Johnny had always been rough around the edges to be sure- he'd never run with a very good crowd. But when he goes missing after a fight, it's Kitty's turn to show that Johnny isn't the only one who's rough.

No idea where this one came from. I blame a snippet of song lyrics, namely "He's an angel with no halo/And one wing in the fire." It suits Johnny, he's not a bad guy, just rough around the edges. I think these two are one of my favorite canon couples in the show. Sure Kitty is pretty obnoxious at times, but it's really sweet how the two of them are with eachother when they aren't bickering. And I suspect if Johnny had a run-in with some thugs he ran afoul of, that Kitty would be out for blood. Remember how she was when Danny was threatening Johnny in Lucky in Love?

The Third Portal
"Stand down, Daniel! We have other things to worry about!" Vlad snarled, catching Danny's fist before the attack could land. "The Guys in White have built their own Ghost Portal!"

It's not exactly like the Fenton Portal is a closely guarded secret. With all the technology that the GIW have, what's stopping them from building a ghost portal? Clearly, such a thing would be a threat to both Danny and Vlad, meaning the two half-ghosts would have a common enemy in the GIW, and the common goal of getting that portal offline.

Curse
Theirs was a noble family; their lands vast, their fields bountiful, their people fed and content. It was all lost though, when Prince Aragon's greed reached out across the land like creeping claws, rousing the ire of a powerful enchantress who saw fit to curse them all.

A sort of origins story idea about Dora and her brother Aragon. The amulet is referred to as being cursed, after all. Dora couldn't transform at will or control herself in dragon form in Parental Bonding, who's to say that Aragon had any control when he was first cursed?

Third Wheel
Tucker was always the odd one out, the awkward third wheel in the social dynamic. But when the third wheel is the only one left after a ghost captures Danny and Sam both, it's all up to Tucker to pull it together and save the day!

Inspired by this discussion: [link] Tucker really IS the show's punching bag, the poor guy gets no love, not even from the show's writers! Stop the Tucker abuse, darn it!

Suspense of Belief (VG/DF)
It all made a strange sort of sense, but Valerie didn't want to believe it. Desperate for reassurance that her friend Danny Fenton was NOT in fact her nemesis Danny Phantom, she corners Sam for answers.

You know, there's a lot of potential for some very interesting character interaction between Danny's two main love interests.

Be Wary of a Dragon's Wrath
When Skulker badly botches a hunt and unleashes a terrifying ghostly beast on Amity Park, Danny is going to need a little draconic help of his own...

Inspired by this pic by =Goku-san [link] There's just something appealing about mixing DP and dragons. :D

Technus' Worst Nightmare
"Ahaha! Behold, ghost child!" Technus cackled, revealing himself after having stayed hidden in Danny's phone. "For, I, Technus am-"

The long-winded ghost paused, realizing that the Fenton RV had already departed, leaving the technological ghost in the middle of an Amish settlement, all alone and without any electricity in sight.

"-totally about to freak out!"

The idea of Technus stranded in a non-technological society amuses me to no end. :D

Incredibly Awkward Situation
After rescuing Sam's parents from a ghost attack, the overbearing adults and Danny are pinned down overnight in a shopping center by a swarm of shadow ghosts. Trapped until daybreak sends the spooks into retreat, Sam's parents learn some interesting things about their daughter from their rescuer.

No idea where this one came from. I think it's just the potential for interesting character interaction and development that exists by forcing Sam's parents into a situation that's out of their usual depth.

Skin Deep (DP/PS sorta)
It's time for the Miss Ghost Zone beauty pagent, and all the ghostly ladies are vying for the title! When Paulina catches wind of the spooky beauty contest, she decides to give the ghosts some REAL competition, in the hopes of getting her beloved ghost boy's attention!

I think this one was inspired by a combination of Beauty Marked and the episode summaries for Girls Night Out.

Poetry Slam (GW/SM)
It was an open mic poetry slam at the Skulk and Lurk. Goth poetry wasn't his favorite genre, but then he heard HER delivering a stirring rendition of Poe's "The Raven". Forget about that beautifully dark visage? Quoth the raven, "Nevermore."

A new crack pairing for people to contemplate, Sam and the Ghostwriter! They never met in TFBC. Not sure where this one came from, just a random idea of the Ghostwriter sneaking out of the Ghost Zone to enjoy some literary activity and running into Sam.

The Sound of Speed (EM/Johnny)
He and Kitty had just had another of their nigh-legendary lovers' quarrels, and Johnny was in no mood to make up with his irate girlfriend. Indeed, he wanted to make her pay.... and make her jealous. That's when he came across Ember...

What is it with me and the crack pairings lately? I dunno, if Kitty could hit on Danny to make Johnny jealous, what's stopping Johnny from playing the same game? =p

On the Run
Skulker's back and armed with an insideous new weapon! Can Danny stop the spook from trying to skin him alive when all his powers are shorted out?

Inspired by a conversation with ~bluemoonalto about her Unified Ghost Theory. It occured to me that part of why there are so many new ghosts in Season 3 might be simply that Danny's become powerful enough that most of his old enemies are no longer a threat. Then I got thinking of ways that the established cadre of bad guys COULD still be a threat. The idea here is that Skulker is crafty and cunning- and if armed with something like the gadget Vlad used on Danny in Maternal Instinct... he could effectively nullify Danny's power advantage.

Hostile Hostage
"Nuh-uh!" Technus waved one gloved finger at Danny, firmly in control of the suit Valerie was trapped in. "Secrets, remember? Attack me and you hurt her!"

Another one inspired from the aforementioned conversation with ~bluemoonalto. This time focused on Technus. He gave Valerie that fancy new suit of hers- what's stopping him from using it to get at Danny? Take control of the suit while Val's using it, and she's essentially trapped inside. Go after Danny, and then there's the double problem of Valerie as a hostage, and that to stop Technus, Danny would very likely have to blow his identity right in front of Valerie. (Who would be conveniently helpless to indulge whatever her knee-jerk reaction to it would be.)

Ghosts and Immortals
When a new threat from another dimension offers Vlad seemingly unlimited dark power, Amity Park's ghost boy is going to need a lot more than a Fenton Thermos to stop him. Luckily for Danny however, he's not the only one trying to stop the scheme in motion!

Come on, it was inevitable! If Boktai/Lunar Knights can do dimensional crossovers IN THE CANON MATERIAL with the high-tech Battle Network universe, is it that unreasonable to cross it with DP? :D Not sure if this would crossover with Boktai (hence involving Django and/or Sabata), or with Lunar Knights (supposedly a few hundred years after Boktai, which would involve Aaron and/or Lucian.) But the basic premise is still there- Vampire/Immortal bad guy from the Boktai/LK timeline pops over to DP, tricks Vlad, bad stuff happens, Danny gets in over his head since his powers don't include anything involving sunlight, then the rest of the good guys show up and stuff!

You know, I wonder just how effective a solar gun would actually be against a DP-style ghost. There are some ghosts in the Boktai series, but nothing anywhere close to what y'see in DP.

Latter Day Scribbles
It had been centuries since George became a vampire as part of a summer internship. He'd all but given up hope that Doctor Inasnum would EVER find a cure for the surfer-turned-immortal. So what's a disgruntled Lab-Ruling Immortal to do? Take it out on the old man, certainly!

Either a continuation or sequel to my silly Scribbles series. While Scribbles is set vaguely in the Boktai timeline, this would be set in the Lunar Knights timeline, but be along the same comedic lines of spoofing elements of the Boktai universe.

Parallel
When a dark threat looms that threatens Time itself, an unlikely alliance must bridge the centuries to save past, present, and future!

Okay... does it count as a crossover when it's between the Boktai series and Lunar Knights? I mean, technically in Japan LK is part of the Boktai series, just set ahead a few hundred years or something. Heh, I bet I'm not the first fan to think of it!

I just like the idea of the characters from the two timelines interacting. Time travel is apparently possible from what I've read about Boktai 3's story, so.... yeah. I don't see much in the way of problems with Django and Aaron interacting with eachother- they seem rather a lot alike, although Aaron I think is a little younger/more naive in mentality. But I think there's a lot of potential for character interaction and development where Sabata and Lucian are concerned. Especially since I get the decided impression that Lucian is the oldest and most experienced of the bunch.

Walking into Darkness
That day seven years ago had been a disaster. His love ripped away by vampires, his leader dead at their hands... and him? He wasn't sure how he had survived. All that was left was revenge... but he was a gunslinger without a gun. How was he going to chase down the vampires that ruined his life?

A very undeveloped story idea about Lucian's past. If he was a Guild gunslinger (and apparently one of their best), how did he end up in posession of the Dark Sword, and where'd he learn to USE it? What happened when the Dark terranial was apparently split apart into Nero and Perrault? How did he hook up with Alice? Did she give him access to Laplace and the space station? What were some of the weaker vampires that he fought prior to the game? Stuff like that.

Black Hat, Red Beret
Tucker didn't think he'd actually be able to break into Vlad's secret computer network and find the billionaire's plans. With Danny on a "Fenton Family Vacation", can Sam and Tucker thwart the older half-ghost's scheme?

Got me. Tucker could hack Axion Labs, what's stopping him from putting those skills to good use against Vlad? :D

Matchmaker Matchmaker (Johnny/Kitty)
Danny is out of town and Sam's grounded. When Tucker stumbles across a forlorn Johnny, can he help the biker ghost get his girl back without causing trouble for Team Phantom?

This was an idea actually I was hoping to tackle for ~DP-RealFans, but just never quite got around to. The idea I had is that Johnny forgot it was Kitty's birthday (or deathday? I dunno! XD) and she storms off in a huff. So Tucker finds Johnny moping, and hatches a scheme to patch things up (and to keep the couple's quarrel from spilling over and causing somebody else grief). Said scheme involves setting up a romantic dinner type of thing in the Ghost Zone, and Tucker finding Kitty and telling her he "saw Johnny with Ember at X location." She gets all jealous, heads there, where Johnny plays it that he DIDN'T forget, he wanted to surprise her.

I've been getting bunnies for Tucker fics lately, y'notice?

Demons, Detectives, and Ghosts, Oh My!
Team Phantom ends up in an exchange program that sticks the trio in Japan. Suddenly it's not just the ghosts Danny has to worry about, a group of demons are after him as well!

DP/YYH crossover bunny. The idea being some demons get the idea that a link between Demon World and the Ghost Zone would be easier to pull off than opening a tunnel directly to the human world. Which would of course spell trouble for Team Phantom and "Team Urameshi"! :D

Ghostly Turnabout :new:
When the Guys in White succeed in capturing the infamous Danny Phantom, it's Sam's knowledge of ghost law and rights that earns the half-ghost a proper trial. The question is, what defense attorney would be crazy enough to take a ghost's case? Perhaps one with a history of turning hopeless cases into "Not Guilty" verdicts?

*is shot* DP/PW crossover bunny. Yeah. Um..... recently got very badly addicted to Phoenix Wright. The other idea that was poking me was Phoenix vs Walker in the courtroom, but I think this one would be far more plausible. XD

Turnabout Inversion :new:
Edgeworth gets a dose of Phoenix's usual courtroom situation when he's up against a defense attorney with a 20 year history of "Not Guilty" verdicts... a perfect record.

Random PW bunny with a defense lawyer that would be in a way, the polar opposite to Manfred von Karma. A guy willing to go to any length to get a "not guilty" verdict: faked evidence, surprise witnesses, and in extreme cases.... dead defendants. After all, you can't declare a dead man guilty, can you?

Never Turnabout :new:
It was a party to celebrate Edgeworth's innocence; he'd been cleared in both Hammond's murder and DL-6. But somewhere between the alcohol and the next morning Gumshoe suggested a game that got quickly out of control... a game called "I've never"

Comedy bunny, entirely spawned by a conversation with my sister about the alcohol tolerances of various Phoenix Wright characters and the fact that Phoenix apparently got himself smashed after case #4 in the first game. What particularly struck us both as highly funny was this hypothetical exchange during said game of "I've Never":
"I've never... worn pink!"
"OBJECTION! It's maroon."
"HOLD IT! That's still a derivative of pink! And Webster's Unabridged Dictionary proves it!"
"Guys... it's just a game!"

... Yeah, I'm a dork.

I like some of these ideas. Chirstmas in Wisconson sound fun, just like Fun and Games.

Yeah, I don't think I'm ever gonna do anything with Phantom Cross though. Like I said in the update, I blame it on my current Battle Network kick colliding head-on with my DP kick.

Lancer going up against Vlad...now THAT I would like to see. LMHO! Sounds like a lot of great stories you have there. Also really looking forward to your one-shot.

Not only Lancer going up against Vlad, but Vlad and Danny unwittingly working together and going up against Lancer :D I can see it now.

"'Ghostboy'-? Certainly Daniel isn't going to be that obvious. Probably some reference to a favored game strategy."
"'PackersFan'-? Nah, couldn't be him. Probably some other cheesehead."
